Ooops! That's not right! Maybe Ooo-err! I feel dizzy!people have?

Damn! I give up, fuggin hit-counters! Who cares? You're here anyway, right? Aren't you? No, wait, don't go!

So you know what I look like, how about what makes me who I am?

Alcohol.

Then again, mayhap there's more to it than that...

Well I was born in Dublin, moved to South Africa when I was two, moving house every three years (so I got to see a good amount of that lovely land).

At age 11 my folks decided to return to Dublin where I finished my school, did Physics and some CompSci in Kevin St. and spent some time writing, knitting chainmail, learning to juggle, play guitar, mix drinks and DJ.

Workwise I've flitted a lot, fitting couriering, extra-work, waiter, chef, electronic tech and cardio-pulmonary tech between stabler periods of computer work (tech-support, sales, repair, web-design (not that this page shows it) and net-tech).

I love travelling and I've been lucky enough to have visited <Boast> UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, SA, Lesotho, Kenya, Zimbabwe, America, Canada & Brazil. </Boast> China and India are next on my must-see list, and then? Wherever...

Music-wise my taste could be described as eclectic (with a distinct gothic bent, though I'm not), and ranges from experimental and found-sound (Negativland, Residents, Head & Leg) through gothic (Bauhaus, Nephelim, Dead Can Dance, Wolfsheim, Horatii, Xymox), wallowing in industrial (Einsturzende Neubauten, Throbbing Gristle, Ministry, FLA) onto punk (NoMeansNo, DK's, Crass) into beat (Incredible String Band, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band), electronicish (Kraftwerk, Orb, Crystal Method, And One, Faithful Dawn, Covenant), can't-really-classify (Divine Comedy, Tom Lehrer, Tindersticks, Chameleons, Captain Beefheart, Birthday Party) and good old gee-tar (CSNY, Lowest of the Low, Tea Party, Spirit). Of course there's tons more that I love, but you get the gist. Dark music takes my fancy the most, but that's _could_ be changed by the next gig I see (which will prolly be Whitby).

I'm an avid SF&F fan too. Robert Rankin's my all time fave, but then he put me in 2 of his books (The Brentford Chainstore Massacre & Apocalypso) so I would say that wouldn't I? Nonetheless he _is_ the best comedic writer of these last 3 decades. Other mentionables are Iain (M) Banks, Neal Stephenenson, Ken McLeod, David Brin, Kim Stanley Robinson, Maggie Furey, Michael Scott, Kim Newman, Philip K. Dick, Tom Holt, Robert Silverberg, Gilbert Sheldon, Matt Groenig, Mills, Grant, Wagner, Morrison and Miller.

Finally a few movies which titillate my interest, in the order they flow off the top of my skull: Fight Club, Blade Runner, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Ghost in the Shell, RHPS, Apocalypse Now, Whoops Apocalypse, 5 Go Mad on Mescaline, God Of Gamblers, Rumblefish, Spinal Tap, Urusei Yatsura, The Cook The Thief His Wife And Her Lover, Delicatessen, Cyrano De Bergerac, Diva, City of Lost Children, Brazil, Time Bandits, Baraka, Akira, The Fisher King, Prince of Darkness, Betty Blue, Fargo, Dusk 'Til Dawn, Go Fish, Nosferatu, Suburbia, Suspiriia, Leon, A Night at the Opera, etc. etc.

So there you are, you've now got a partial idea of who I am and what I'm into, for whatever good it may do you...

...will not be shown here as I'm sure you know how to use Google
but you may want to look at the club I run, found here. Then again you may have just come from there, in which case why bovver.

I'm always mailable using this form except for when I'm not.
